President's Message

Welcome to Al-Hedayah

A

salaamu alaikum. I am pleased and excited to report that the administrative offices at Al-Hedayah Academy are humming with activities. With the start of the academic year 2010-2011 just four weeks away, our new Principal, Matthew Moes, our secretary and our budget manager are busy with the enrollment, ordering school supplies as well as putting final touches to the classrooms. The induction and immersion of our faculty and staff will begin on August 16, 2010 and the students will return on Monday, August 23, 2010, Inshallah.

Over 95% of the faculty and staff are returning. This speaks well for Al-Hedayah. We are also excited about Sr. Hanna El-Kassih, who previously taught at Al-Hedayah from 1998-2002. She will be returning to us as our Arabic teacher. In addition to her experience here, she has been a teacher for over 15 years abroad. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Language, has mastered Arabic calligraphy and is proficient in Tajweed.

With the blessing of Allah subhana wa taala, the individual classroom enrollment has been considerably higher than at this time last year and it is anticipated that most if not all grades will be filled within the next 2-3 weeks. Some of the grades, such as Grade-2, are almost full, and therefore we urge parents to act quickly to avoid their childs name being placed on wait list. Those of you who are waiting for financial aid, we urge you to register and apply as soon as possible. The financial aid committee is now meeting with the families.

I also want to assure the parents that Al-Hedayah has firm plans to offer High School during academic year 2010-2011. The registration for both 9th and 10th grades is also in progress and is picking up, alhamdulillah. The Principal will call a special meeting for parents in the next few days and address any questions that parents may have regarding the High School program.

We are committed to assure learning experiences that will assist our students to achieve their greatest potential to adapt and adjust to a diverse and ever changing society and we continue to believe that Al-Hedayah is a special place, where Faith, Wisdom, and Service are the hallmarks. Since its foundation in 1992 as a Preparatory Islamic School, Al-Hedayah has strived to serves the Muslims of Tarrant County by offering a mind-broadening education from pre-Kindergarten to 10th grade in an atmosphere that welcomes students to learn and to grow, nurturing each students faith and intellect. Our Vision aims to develop, for its students, self-assurance as American Muslims with a commitment to honoring family, community involvement, and respecting others. The Academy has worked hard to instill ethical values in the students towards becoming productive and responsible members of our society. Our graduates are the proof of our success. Most if not all students, after leaving Al-Hedayah, have excelled in other schools and in Universities and many have received merit scholarship for their academic distinction.

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone best wishes for a wonderful and spiritually uplifting Ramadan. Ramadan Mubarak.
